From November 24th 2017 to January 7th 2018, the Indiana Chinese Lantern Festival will illuminate the Indiana State Fairgrounds with more than 30 sets of larger-than-life size lantern displays. This is a festival of Chinese folk-culture activities, live entertainment, and art installations. Indiana Chinese Lantern Festival is an opportunity to explore both the ancient culture of China while learning about China today.

The Indiana Chinese Lantern Festival will light up Indiana State Fairgrounds with 33 larger-than-life illuminated displays crafted by Chinese artisans. Our team of artisans hail from Zigong, Sichuan, China’s cultural capital for the ancient art of lantern-making.
In addition to lanterns, nightly performances, and handicrafts, the event will also offer food and beverages. Our menu includes a variety of Chinese and traditional fair food, as well as assorted beverages.
Sunday-Thursday: 6:30 PM & 8:00PM
Friday & Saturday: 6:30PM, 8:00 PM, & 9:00 PM
Performances are included in festival admission.
Where is this event being held and is there parking available?
The Indiana Chinese Lantern Festival is being held within the Celebration Park at the Indiana State Fairgrounds, located at 1202 E. 38th St.
Indianapolis, IN 46205. Parking is $5 per car.
Where can I purchase tickets?
Tickets will be available for purchase at the festival entrance or online at indianalanternfest.com. Tickets can also be purchased in advance at the Indiana Farmers Coliseum Box Office Monday-Friday from 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.
What does the price of admission include?
Admission includes entry into the festival for viewing all lanterns, authentic Chinese performances, and handicraft demonstrations. Merchandise and food are sold separately.
Do I need to purchase tickets in advance?
You may either buy tickets in advance online or at the entrance. To avoid ticket lines on more crowded days, it is recommended to purchase tickets in advance but it is not required.
What are the festival hours?
The festival is open nightly from 5:30- to 10:00PM. The ticket booth opens at 5:00pm and closes at 9:30pm.
Will you be open on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve,and New Year’s Day?
Yes, we will be open every night including holidays!
Is this an indoor or outdoor event?
All lantern displays are outdoor and it is a walk through experience. Dress warmly!
What is your ticket policy?
Tickets can be purchased both online and at the door at the same price. Online tickets are good for any day during the festival and can be used once only. All ticket sales are final and no refund is provided. In case of inclement weather when the festival must be cancelled or close early, rain checks will be offered.
Is everything cash only?
Our ticket box takes cash, credit and debit cards, however, parking fee is cash only and some of the merchandise and food vendors take only cash as well. There will be ATMs available at the venue.
Do I have to print my online ticket?
We can scan the ticket off your phone but it is recommended that you print your tickets. You can print it on both sides!
Is there anything I cannot bring to the festival?
No pets, large moving vehicles, or weapons will be allowed. The walking paths are wheelchair and stroller-friendly. Both wheelchairs and strollers are always allowed in the park.
How do I enter the fairgrounds?
Entrance is at Gate 1 (on 38th St) or at Gate 6 (on Fall Creek Pkwy.)
Tickets are available online or at the door, no advance purchase is necessary.
